Castor Oil

Castor oil or Ricinus Communis Oil comes from the castor bean which actually contains a toxic enzyme called ricin, (Castor bean = Ricinus communis) however the heating process kills the enzyme. Castor oil is rich in a monounsaturated fatty acid called ricinoleic acid, which has a comedogenic rating of 1 on a scale of 0-5. This means it is not likely to clog your pores. Castor oil is an excellent humectant that helps hold moisture in our skin. Today Castor oil is a popular ingredient in soaps, hair and skin, eyelash serum, and many other products. Rich in Omega 6 & 9 and vitamin E serves as an excellent oil for hair and skin. Castor oil clears the scalp and is known to promote hair growth.
