Candelilla Wax

Candelilla wax (Euphorbia Cerifera) is native to Northern Mexico and the wax comes from the leaves of the desert growing scrub. Because it is plant-based, it is the popular vegan and cruelty-free substitute for beeswax and it spreads and absorbs easier than beeswax. The wax adds thickness to creams and lotions and adds a protective barrier to the skin.

In sunscreens and sunblocks, it adds water-resistant properties helping to keep the cream in place longer. It has a high melting point so it acts as a stabilizer in balms, lipsticks, mascara, and deodorant sticks. Best of all it nourishes poached and dry skin.

Your Hair loves candelilla wax too:

The wax adds shine and lubricity to hair and is used in conditioners, hair masks, and other strengthening and repairing hair products.
